Community Meeting with Mayor Fulop scheduled for February 1st

Riverview Neighborhood Association, in coordination with The Washington Park Association of Hudson County will hold a Heights public community meeting with Mayor Fulop on Monday February 1st at 7:30pm at the Gymnasium of St John's Church 155 North St (at Summit).  We encourage all Heights residents to attend to hear from the Mayor and ask him questions about priorities for the Heights community in 2016. Mark your calendar and block off this time to spend with the Mayor.
Live at the Lumberyard Awarded Grant

Live At The Lumberyard will be back for another season thanks to our Hudson County Local Arts Program grant being approved.  RNA was awarded over $3900 toward this year's shows (it is a matching grant). Special thanks to Jocelyn Patrick for spearheading the grant application process.  We received specific praise from the grant peer review board for our focus on featuring local musicians and our community outreach efforts.  We are in the planning stages for the 2016 Lumberyard events so stay tuned. Special thanks again to our 2016 season series sponsor JCITY REALTY (http://jcityrealty.com).  If you are a Jersey City business interested in sponsoring the Live At The Lumberyard Lumberyard Concerts, please contact riverviewneighborhood@gmail.com .
Upcoming And Current Heights Zoning Applications

423 Palisade (proposed 3 story retrofit for conversion to daycare center): The plans have been revised based on feedback from the Zoning Board.  We will have copies of the revised plans at the Jan 12th meeting. The revised project is on the agenda for the January 21st 6:30pm Zoning Board meeting.

83 Waverly St & 163 Oakland Ave:  Proposed 7 Unit 4 and 5 story residential unit.  We will have copies of the plans at the Jan 12th meeting and the developer will be on hand to answer any questions.  This project is slated to be on the agenda for the February 4th 6:30pm Zoning Board meeting.

52-58 Cambridge Ave: Proposed 32 unit 5 story (100'x100' lot) residential building.  Due to community concerns raised at the last Zoning Board meeting, this project has been carried to the Feb 4th Zoning Board meeting.  Thus far the developer has not engaged with the Heights community on this project except for one meeting at Councilman Yun's office.  We are hoping that the developer and architect will work with the community to result in a project that will benefit the Heights community and also fit better with the current zoning where the site is located (The RAD and the R1).

8 Congress St:  Rehabilitation of building and addition of a dwelling unit. We will have copies of the plans at the Jan 12th meeting and the developer will be on hand to answer any questions.  This project is slated to be on the agenda for the February 4th 6:30pm Zoning Board meeting.
