Greetings!

Please join us this Tuesday, April 12th at 7:30 PM at the Harborview Health Center, 178 Ogden Avenue (at Franklin St) for the Riverview Neighborhood Association's (RNA's) monthly meeting.  At this meeting we will have updates from United For Clean Streets regarding trash/litter issues and the results of recent meetings with the Mayors Office, Farms In The Heights will give a preview of what we can look forward to at the Riverview Farmers Market this season and we will also provide an update on the gazebo rebuild project, action items from the recent Civic Engagement Forum, and other neighborhood issues. All are encouraged and welcome to attend.
Riverview Farmers Market Returns May 1st!

A sure sign that Spring is here is the reopening of the Riverview Farms Market, A Farms in the Height Program, starting Sunday May 1st and running every Sunday from 10AM -3PM through November.  RNA was an inaugural sponsor of the market and continues to have a regular presence at the market each summer.  At this month's RNA meeting, representatives from Farms in the Heights will give a preview of what we can look forward to at the farmers market this season (hint there will be more vendors this year!).  We will also be looking to sign up volunteers for the RNA outreach table at the market.

DPW Launches Recycling Container Program (limited supply available at the meeting)

Do you need recycling containers?  The Jersey City Department of Public Works (DPW) is launching a new program to provide free recycling containers to residents (restrictions apply).  There will be a limited supply on hand at the RNA meeting to give out to attendees who bring a copy of their property tax bill.  This is an effort by the City to increase participation in recycling.

City-wide Cleanup - April 23rd

In honor of Earth Day, and in affiliation with Keep America Beautiful (KAB) a national non-profit devoted to litter reduction, increasing recycling and greening initiatives,  and neighborhood beautification through civic engagement, Jersey City will undertake a city-wide cleanup on April 23rd.

In our immediate neighborhood, there will be cleanups in Riverview Park, a cleanup and anti-litter sign making activity for children in the play area in Riverview Park and a cleanup of Historic Holland St (cobblestone St) and litter pickup on the streets around the park.  This is an opportunity to volunteer for a few hours and spruce up our corner of the City.  Please sign up to volunteer here.
