ongoing or planned development projects in the Heights: (we will
review the status at the Monthly meeting)
500 Palisade Ave - approved multi use building with 24 units and ground floor retail.
Status: waiting for construction schedule (most likely to start in the Spring).
380 Palisade Ave
- renovation of existing building with expansion of additional
units. Ground floor will be live/work with flex work/gallery space
fronting Palisade Ave.
Status: On the Zoning Board meeting agenda for Thurs Jan 19th at 6:30pm (City Hall)
391 Palisade Ave - approved new building with 16 units
Status: Demolition of existing three buildings set to start within 60 days.
520 Palisade Ave - conversion of existing building to multi-use (old firehouse)
Status: Initial community meeting held, now waiting for revised plans
and follow up meeting with neighbors/community.
271 Webster Ave
- Interior and exterior renovation of existing three story building
with extension on the back to add one bedroom to each unit.
Status: Possibly on the agenda for the Planning Board meeting on 1/24
at 5:30pm (project is within the Webster Ave Redevelopment Plan -- we'll
post update once agenda is released)
620 Palisade - Proposed new building with 22 units and ground floor parking.
Status: Initial community meeting held and revised facade plans
received. Still in review by community and city planning.
Currently asking developer to reduce building footprint and include some
affordable units in the project.
345 Palisade Ave - Approved project to renovate existing building and restore ground floor retail.
Status: waiting for construction schedule
39 New York Ave/Ravine Rd - Proposed residential building with 154 units in the R3 and PPOD zones.
Status: Waiting for Jersey City traffic and engineering to report on
the traffic and safety concerns related to the project. Tentatively
scheduled for the Planning Board meeting on Tues 1/24 at 5:30pm. (RNA
has asked that the traffic and safety aspects of the project be analysed
and mitigation plans documented prior to presenting the project to the
Van Leer North and South projects - Two approved residential buildings with hundreds of units on Hoboken Ave below Christ Hospital.
Status: Amendments approved - construction schedule not yet released.
