addition to the opportunity to hear from and bring issues to the
attention of a representative from the Jersey City Police Department
North District and from the Residence Response Center, this
month our guests are: the new owner and architect for 444 Palisade Ave,
who will present their proposed project that includes 9 units. The
owner is asking for several variances including, density, lot coverage,
and rear yard setbacks. This is one of the few historic Victorian
buildings on Palisade Ave. There
will be a 3D presentation of this project and this would be the time to
provide any feedback to the owners and architect or get your questions
answered. We will also hear from the Riverview Jazz Fest about the upcoming Jazz Fest, the Riverview Neighborhood Association (RNA) is again sponsoring the Historic Holland St Stage as part of the Jazz Fest on Sat June 10th.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
|Progress continues on the Gazebo
After some weather delays, construction of the Riverview Park Gazebo
continued. The railings, ceiling and lighting was installed and
work continued on the walkway and grading. The contractor is also
reinstalling a portion of the roof at the direction of the city. The
landscaping, benches and micro-swale are next up to be completed along
with the final punch-list walk through by RNA.
If all goes well, look for the grand re-opening at the beginning of June.

Cleanup in Riverview Park. Area residents filled the two 25 cubic
yard dumpsters to capacity with e-waste, paints, old tires, warn out
furniture and all kinds of other household waste (from water skis to
mannequins). In addition, area residents filled over four large
bins with gently used clothing and other items to the GoodWill and
securely shred several bins worth of confidential documents.
