Please join us on Tuesday evening, January 9th at 7:30PM for our monthly meeting at the Harborview Health Center, 178 Ogden Ave at Franklin St - 1st Floor Cafeteria. You will have the opportunity to hear from the North District police department and from a representative of the Residence Response Center.

At this month's meeting, there will be a presentation by the owner and architect of 266 New York Ave. They will be collecting feedback and answering questions on the proposed project (4 stories, 11 units w/1 live-work, 6 parking spaces).  We will hold a vote of the RNA membership on this proposed development project following the presentation.

We will also be establishing and introducing our 2018 committees and reviewing priorities for the year.  We also have a number of updates on the park and developments in the neighborhood.

RNA Holiday Party With Over 60 Neighbors

Thanks to Patsey's for providing the delicious food and to all our wonderful neighbors that brought deserts to share and donated over 10 bags of clothing and toiletries to give to local shelters.  It was a pleasure to reconnect and also welcome new neighbors.

2017 Accomplishments
The Riverview Neighborhood Association was very active in 2017, here is a quick recap of some of our activities and accomplishments:

- Oversaw the completion of the new Pavilion/Gazebo in Riverview Park and dedicated it to late board member Maria Tuzzo.
- Worked with NJ Transit Representatives and elected officials to increase service on the 119 bus.

- Secured a commitment from the city to finalize the plans and start the Riverview Park renovation in 2018.

- Worked with the city to finally break ground and start construction of the Dog Park adjacent to Janet Moore Park (opening in Spring 2018).

- Partnered with Riverview Jazz and The Statuary to host two incredible concerts and performances under the vault on Historic Holland St.

- Continued to work with other Heights organizations and community members with the goal to bring about affordable live/work spaces and shared community arts space on Palisade Ave.

- Grew and evolved the Ogden's End Community Garden by expanding both the vegetable garden and perennial areas.

- Co-produced, along with James Ruggia, a full year of monthly Poetry and Spoken Word events at the Fox and Crow featuring writers and poets from all over the NY Metro area.

- Produced and Presented the "Live On The Palisades" series of four concerts in Riverview Park.

- Organized and hosted the Big Spring Cleanup event in Riverview Park by partnering with the JC Sanitation department, All American Recycling and Goodwill.

- Brought Back the Flea Market and Park Fest to Riverview Park.

- Worked with the Mayors Office to get Palisade Ave paved.

- Oversaw and worked through many proposed development projects in the Heights and worked with the developers to improve the projects and lower the negative impact on the Heights community and neighbors.
