Member Vote on new 520 Palisade Ave plans
proposed plans for the 520 Palisade Ave (old firehouse) had been
presented at our July meeting by the new architect for the project, Lee
Levine, and by the owner - Pronti Construction for questions and
feedback from the community. The previous plans that went to the
zoning board last October were denied by the Zoning Board after
significant opposition from the immediate neighbors.
new proposal is mixed use with Retail space(s) on the ground floor and
dwelling units above. Plans presented have dwelling 20 units, retail on
the ground floor, 6 stories with setbacks at the 2nd and 6th floors, a
restored facade, and no parking.
RNA board asked for clarification from City Planning and the owner on
why they thought a density variance was warranted (17 units is allowed)
but we have not received a reply so we are assuming this project will go
before the Zoning Board as presented.
will be asking members in good standing to vote on this project at the
meeting. This is not a legal hearing on the development application,
ultimately this project proposal will be heard before the Zoning Board
of Adjustment (no date yet).
